Do you have any favorite country music stars? I've heard your duet with your Dad and you have a strong country flavor. Someone said you sounded like Tanya Tucker. By the way, you sounded great! Can't wait for your album. Hi Linda, I listened to only country when I was quite young. My favorite artists at the time were Alabama, Lee Greenwood, the Charlie Daniels Band and Anne Murray. Friday March 30 3:11 AM ET Lisa Marie Presley checks into Heartbreak Hotel LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Lisa Marie Presley, the twice-married daughter of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, can't help falling out of love. Presley, 33, the sole heir to Elvis Presley's fortune, has split with her rock musician fiance, John Oszajca, but they remain ``very good friends,'' her publicist said Thursday. Paul Bloch of PR firm Rogers & Cowan said he did not know the reason for the split, and added that Presley was not dating anyone at present. Presley, who has been working on her debut album for the past few years, met Oszajca in May 1999. They got engaged that Christmas after he sought permission from Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla Presley. Lisa Marie Presley walked down the aisle for the first time in 1988 with musician Danny Keough. They had two children before splitting in 1994. That same year, she married self-proclaimed ``King of Pop'' Michael Jackson in a secret ceremony. She filed for divorce in January 1996. Presley recently finished her album, according to her Web site (http://www.lisapresley.com). No release date was disclosed. She collaborated with producer Glen Ballard, best known for his work with Canadian pop singer Alanis Morissette. Hawaii-born Oszajca released his debut solo album ``From Here to There'' to generally warm reviews a year ago.

HOLLYWOOD -- Glen Ballard was forced to meet some fairly strict deadlines with the Dave Matthews Band, but he has taken his time with another high-profile project. For the past three years, he has been working with Lisa Marie Presley on her debut album. Although the temptation to rush a quick-hit product into the marketplace was always there, he persuaded the hereditary princess of rock 'n' roll to bide her time. "Even though she's a celebrity, Lisa Marie is a new artist and this is her first record," said Ballard, pulling up one of the songs from the album. "When I met her, I asked her two questions: Do you want to make a record, or do you want to be an artist? She said, `I want to be an artist,' which was the right answer." About a year later, though, "she said, `When are we making a record?' I said, `Wait a minute, I thought you wanted to be an artist?' It became a long process, because she needed to do more homework. "She had the desire, but there were too many other things she had to do," Ballard emphasized. "I wrote several songs with her, and she wrote and recorded one with Billy Corrigan. But we took our time. "By the third year, it started getting really good. Now, we're friends again." Having a boutique label, Java Records, allows the producer to give artists a "sanctuary" where they can develop their music. Although a distributor might like to release album after album, like a movie studio, some musicians need time to grow. And, no, there are no digitally enhanced duets with Elvis or her former husband, Michael Jackson, either. But, thanks for asking.
