Lisa Marie Begs Michael: Please Take Me Back! (from The NATIONAL ENQUIRER. )

Lisa Marie Presley is desperately pleading with ex-husband Michael Jackson to take her back.
In a heartfelt phone call to her ex-mother-in-law, Katherine Jackson, "Lisa Marie made it very clear she wants Michael again," said an insider.
Lisa Marie told Katherine, "Our divorce was a mistake -- a bad mistake," the insider revealed to The ENQUIRER.
"I know how to love Michael. I want him to know I'm here for him."
Elvis' only child married pop star Michael in 1994, and divorced nearly two years later.
Lisa Marie's attempt to rekindle Michael's interest comes when her ex-husband's marriage to Debbie Rowe is on the rocks.
The couple had a bitter fight when Michael announced the couple's 2-year-old boy Prince was dying -- and backed out of a planned concert in Italy. But Debbie stated publicly in a televised interview that reports the boy was in danger were false.
"Lisa Marie wanted Michael to know that, unlike Debbie, she would NEVER publicly dispute anything he said," noted the insider.
"Don't forget, when Lisa Marie and Michael were married, she went on television with him and defended everything he has ever done."
Debbie's considering ending the bizarre, 21 2-year union with the pop star, and Michael's terrified he'll lose his beloved son Prince, and the couple's 1-year-old daughter Paris.
But not if Lisa Marie can help it. She told Katherine Jackson, "I'll treat his two adorable kids as my own," said the insider.
"I want to be back with Michael."

Use of Psychiatric Drugs Protested
Saturday, May 15, 1999; 4:57 p.m. EDT

WASHINGTON (AP) -- About 1,000 protesters, dressed in black and many carrying black balloons, picketed a convention of psychiatrists Saturday to demand they stop prescribing mind-altering medications to young people.
Such medicine leads to youth violence, said three protest leaders, actresses Kirstie Alley and Juliette Lewis and singer Lisa Marie Presley.
``They're making drug addicts out of our children,'' said Alley, best known for her roles on the TV shows ``Cheers'' and ``Veronica's Closet.'' ``It's barbaric, and it's being promoted by psychiatrists.''
The demonstration, organized by the Church of Scientology's Citizens Commission on Human Rights, targeted the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association in downtown Washington. As they marched around the Washington Convention Center, the demonstrators chanted: ``Don't drug our kids. Don't shock our kids. Just leave our kids alone.''
All three of the celebrity demonstrators are Scientologists. The church's founder, L. Ron Hubbard, strongly opposed psychiatry.

LISA MARIE PRESLEY's romance with her former bodyguard LUKE WATSON is heating up so quickly that they've already exchanged rings. Luke bought Lisa a $900 Cartier gold band. But more significantly, Lisa gave Luke a diamond ring that was once owned by her father Elvis. For now he only wears the ring when he knows he won't be photographed.
Just for the record, when Lisa married MICHAEL JACKSON, he begged for a piece of Elvis memorabilia but she never volunteered any.

The King's kid is in the studio

Lisa Marie Presley's debut album, due out in January, "won't be too polite. It won't be demure. She's got some things on her mind,'' said producer Glen Ballard, who has been in the studio with Presley since January and is best known for handling Alanis Morissette's multiplatinum album Jagged Little Pill. Elvis' daughter has written most of the songs for the still-untitled compact disc, Ballard said. "For much of her life, she's had this big shadow of her father over her, and it's important for her to define who she is so that other people don't do it for her.'' Music fans once thought Lisa Marie and then-husband Michael Jackson would team on an album, but that never happened. "Lisa Marie has an eclectic style,'' Ballard said, "and the album will be a little bit of both pop and rock. I think people will be pleasantly shocked and surprised; she's got a very strong point of view and a very strong voice.'' He stresses that Lisa Marie is not just cashing in on her dad's name. "She doesn't need to do that. She's proud of her father and loved him . . . but it's time for her to make her music. She's got the talent.''

WEDDING BELLE?
Lisa Marie Presley and her new boyfriend Luke Watson -- ex-hubby Danny Keough's best friend --leave a Beverly Hills jewelry store. Could Elvis' little girl be planning marriage No. 3?

LISA MARIE PRESLEY has big plans to combine two important parts of her life - - Scientology and Elvis! She credits the group for helping her beat drugs and straighten out her life. She also believes they could have helped her father beat his addictions and she wants to use his popularity to enhance their reputation. A digitally enhanced Elvis singing the praises of Scientology would certainly increase membership! Lisa's mom Priscilla, also a devout Scientologist, likes the idea but some of Elvis' Memphis cronies are appalled.

Lisa Marie Presley Readies Debut (JAMtv.com)

The King's daughter is preparing to make her debut. Lisa Marie Presley, son of Elvis and daughter of Priscilla, is busy working with hit-maker Glen Ballard on her first record. Ballard, who produced Alanis Morissette's last two albums, reports that Presley's pop album, which may include some help from all-star contributors, should be ready by mid-summer. It will be released on Ballard's own Java Records, in cooperation with Capitol. "It's pretty remarkable stuff," Ballard insists.
Ever since the producer surprised the industry more than a year ago by announcing he had signed Presley to a record contract, there has been much speculation about what Lisa Marie's music would sound like. The reclusive thirty-one-year-old has never before sung in public.
For now, Ballard's not going to shed much light on the musical mystery that surrounds the former Mrs. Michael Jackson. "The music is not what people would expect. It's funky, there are some heavy rhythmic elements. There are all kinds of influences in there; I just can't quite name it. She's an excellent singer, with a completely distinctive style, a unique blend of a lot of different styles." Ballard does suggest Presley's songs "will be acceptable to pop, hot AC and alternative radio."
Presley has been co-writing songs with Ballard, who reports that the Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan, as well as Seal, have expressed interest in writing with Presley.
And just how might record buyers react to more music from the Presley family? "There'd definitely be a curiosity factor," says John Grandoni, vice president of purchasing for National Record Mart, which owns more than 100 record shops across the country. "There would be tremendous amount of press and public awareness. Every entertainment show in America would cover it." For the most part, though, the VP insists Presley will face the same harsh reality every other new act faces when releasing a record: "Whether people will buy it depends on the quality of the music."

Lisa Marie dating ex-hubby's best pal

In this STAR exclusive photo,
Luke Watson stays close to Lisa Marie Presley after returning home from her romantic getaway.
The couple make no secret of their attachment.

Lisa Marie Presley is involved in a wild love triangle - she's fallen in love with ex-husband Danny Keough's closest friend.
And STAR has learned that Lisa Marie's latest love affair developed right under the roof of her own mansion while Danny was around. In the past three months lovelorn Lisa Marie has been seeing her ex-hubby and his pal.
Just three months ago she gushed to a pal: "Ilove Danny. I want to remarry."
But at the same time she was falling for handsome Luke Watson, who went to work for the 31-year-old heiress last summer as her children's bodyguard.
"Lisa Marie was lonely and looking for love," a family friend explains to STAR. "She and Danny have toyed with the idea with getting back together many times, and he spends a lot of his time at her house with the children. "But once Luke won her heart, Lisa Marie's feelings for Danny took a back seat.
"Lisa Marie needs a lot of attention and Luke is willing to give it to her. She may finally have found her perfect match."
Watson is a 30-year-old musician who was assigned to the once-lonely Lisa Marie by the Church of Scientology - and sources tell STAR he's is a perfect love match for Elvis' only child.

She's All Shook Up
By Liz Smith from NEWSDAY.COM (Jan.28,1999) Same article as New York Post's

HAD A little chat with someone I like very much, Lisa Marie Presley. She and her lawyer, the great Dan Petrocelli (he is the man who represented the Goldman family in its successful civil lawsuit against O.J. Simpson), were annoyed and reeling from their recent contretemps with the National Enquirer over a settled libel suit.
If it was settled, what's the contretemps, you may ask? Lisa Marie had sued the tabloid for printing that she tried to kill herself and mutilated her body. "I was in the hospital having my gallbladder taken out," insists the child of Elvis. "I'm upset now because my thing is not about getting the money. I don't need the money. I wanted to send a message that a public person can do something about an outrageous lie in print. The AP says I dropped the lawsuit. That is BS. I didn't drop the suit. The Enquirer has paid me. I have the check right here in my hand, although I am enjoined from saying how much it was for. They keep asking - if their story was not true, why would I settle? Well, it was over a year ago; and I felt that their settling would prove I was in the right without going to trial.
"Now I think the Enquirer just wants to save face, saying I sought the settlement. Listen, they tried to settle from the get-go. When we released the fact that there had been a settlement, they just weren't ready for it. But I'm sitting here with the check!"
Lisa Marie then wanted me to tell her my sources for various items about her ex-husband Michael Jackson and his current wife, Debbie Rowe! I declined, of course. And she declined to say much else either - merely that she is busy in the recording studio making an album. "Things are going well; my kids are good!"
She promised she'd talk to me when she is ready with the album. So wait for it. You and I have no choice.

Presley Settles, Annoys Tabloid
From Mr.Showbiz.

Lisa Marie Presley says she's checked out of the Heartbreak Hotel of tabloid lawsuits, but the National Enquirer insists she's All Shook Up.
Elvis' little princess announced on Wednesday that she has agreed to drop her defamation suit against the tabloid after reaching a confidential settlement.
In 1997, the weekly rag claimed that Lisa Marie, the mother of two and ex-wife of Michael Jackson, had tried to commit suicide and had mutilated herself, scrawling "Nobody loves me" and "I'm ugly" on her arms with her own blood.
"I am satisfied with the settlement," Presley said in a statement. "I hope suits like mine will force tabloids to think twice before they publish false information about me or others."
That message got Enquirer editor Steve Coz's blood boiling. "She is lying if she means to suggest that she proved false the 1997 article," Coz said. "If Lisa Marie wanted a public airing of the facts surrounding these matters, she would not have dropped her lawsuit."
Enquirer executive editor David Perel tells USA Today that Presley was the one who offered to settle. The agreement does not include a retraction or a correction.
Presley's attorney Daniel Petrocelli denies that his client offered to settle first and tells the paper he advised her against seeking a retraction "because it only serves to republish the ugly allegations. The Enquirer has been anxious to settle this from Day One."

Lisa Marie Presley drops lawsuit

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Lisa Marie Presley has dropped her lawsuit against the National Enquirer, which had said she was suicidal.
"I am satisfied with the settlement," Presley said Wednesday, explaining the lawsuit was designed to send a message to tabloids that she won't tolerate publication of untruths.
Enquirer editor Steve Coz was outraged by Presley's announcement.
"She is lying if she means to suggest that she proved false the 1997 article," Coz said from his Lantana, Fla., office. "If Lisa Marie wanted a public airing of the facts surrounding these matters she would not have dropped her lawsuit."
The tabloid said Presley tried to kill herself and performed self-mutilation, drawing blood from her body and scrawling, "Nobody loves me" and "I'm ugly" on her arms.

Lisa Marie's Secret Wedding Plan from STAR Magazine.

Lisa Marie Presley is set to take another walk down the aisle with ex-husband Danny Keough.
The couple - who have two children, Danielle, 9, and Benjamin, 6 - have been inseparable in recent months as Elvis' daughter tries to rebuild her life following her ill-fated marriage to Michael Jackson.
Now she's telling pals that Danny is the one she loved all along making plans to get married all over again.
"I love Danny!" Lisa Marie, 30, said recently to a pal. "I want to remarry him!"
A close family friend tells STAR: "Danny and Lisa Marie are definitely back together. They've been living together in a trial marriage for several months at Lisa Marie's lavish home in the Hidden Hills section of Los Angeles.
"Lisa Marie adored Danny from the first day that she met him - and she now realizes what a mistake it was to end their marriage. Now that they're living like man and wife, they've decided to go ahead and make it legal with a wedding ceremony.
"The two of them are talking about a very small wedding. Maybe even a quickie ceremony in Las Vegas away from everyone - something that's quick and quiet."
