Liz Hurls Drink Over Groper Star Throws Drink Over Groper
GLAMOROUS Liz Hurley flung a glass of wine over a drunken groper as gatecrashers wrecked a
star-studded Hollywood party.
As the drink-fuelled reveller made a lunge at Liz, actor fiance Hugh Grant screamed for help into a mobile
phone.
But Liz coolly confronted the yob, who had made an obscene remark to her, drenched him with her drink
and told him: "You're simply disgusting. Go away."
Meanwhile, Grant, famous for his ineffectual Englishman roles in Hollywood movies, wailed into his mobile
phone: "Where's our bloody car? We can't get out of this place."
The soaked gatecrasher, who had pawed Liz's shoulders, staggered off into the night after his drenching.
Liz and Hugh, along with supermodel Claudia Schiffer and her British playboy boyfriend Tim Jeffries, were eventually escorted out
of the bash at Hollywood's exclusive Mondrian Hotel through an underground garage.
The party which turned to chaos was thrown by Talk magazine as a curtain-raiser to last night's Golden Globe awards.
Security inside the function suite at Mondrian was tight.
But elsewhere in the hotel, the rich and famous were left at the mercy of the gawkers and gatecrashers.
Groups of revellers, most of them drinking heavily, wandered the halls and corridors looking for star guests.
Ally McBeal star Portia Di Rossi was almost in tears as she fought to break through the merry-makers to get to her car and
escape.
Claudia Schiffer and her millionaire boyfriend became caught up in the melee in the foyer after arriving late and took refuge with Liz
and Hugh.
Liz - wearing a daring pink outfit - at first pleaded with gatecrashers to leave them alone.
But her pleas turned to fury after the groper's attack.
She shouted at him to get off her before hurling the drink over him.
Kevin Spacey, star of the hit movie American Beauty, which is tipped for major Oscar success, sneaked out of a side door at the
hotel to escape the chaos.
But then he was chased by a stampede of drunken fans down Hollywood's famous Sunset Strip.
Eventually, the Oscar winner found his chauffeur- driven limo parked in a side street and managed to zoom away from the crowds.
Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock legend Elvis and ex-wife of Michael Jackson, was best prepared for the trouble.
She had brought her own two bodyguards to the party. And the minders ensured she was not harmed.
Tiny Lisa Marie waited until hotel security staff got their act together before attempting to leave.
She clung on to her towering boyfriend, musician John Oszajca, as they were finally escorted to their Mercedes.
One celebrity chauffeur said: "I've never known such a foul-up. Our clients were screaming at us to pick them up at the front but
we couldn't get near the place.
"The Strip was log-jammed. There was a total breakdown in security and communication."
Actor Chuck Norris and Priscilla Presley are confirmed as attendees for the Shaolin monks' Feb. 12 VIP performance.
The monks have a two-week engagement at the MGM Grand from Feb. 11 to 23.
Norris and Presley are big supporters of the martial arts masters, who live in a Chinese monastery. ...
